- What brings you to Bay Area Beaders?
- I started Bay Area Beaders in response to so many customers of The Bead Shop just feeling so lost when we closed in August. I want BAB's to become the mortar that keeps us feeling together. I hope everyone will share photos of their jewelry, let everyone know of events and classes and network with each other to create new friendships and the sharing of ideas.
- Tell us a little about yourself. We like to know something about our members.
- I've been making jewelry for 40+ years. I love it. I love vintage jewelry and I love knotting. My mother raised me on equal parts museums and broadway musicals. I have taught jewelrymaking and pearl knotting at the store I started 26 years ago. Now, it's a new chapter in my life and I'm very excited about looking forwards.
I am the proud mother of an extraordinary daughter and godmother to three wonderful godchildren and three exceptional godbabies............................
I'm 22 years old, single and I teach spinning. hah!
- If you are a beader, do you like one style more than others? If so, what?
- Pearl knotting is my all-time favorite. It's relaxing and the finished results are worth the time.
- How do you express your creativity?
- I paint, garden and cook. Right now I am trying to "master" watercolors; something almost impossible for me. I'm much better at gardening and cooking. And, ofcourse, I love beading. When I start a project, I really don't know where and how it will look finished; I create as I go.
- How did you find our social network? Why did you join Bay Area Beaders? What kinds of things do you want to see online with our network?
- I want to see events, bead shows, best websites, product wishlist
- What are some of your favorite products?
- Vintage jewelry, fabulous clasps and an extensive collection of threads. I also crave art supplies.

Is Recycled Jewelry Bogus?
This is a subject I'm having a visceral reaction to and I need to share my thoughts. I'm seeing on etsy and ebay all this recycled jewelry. I'm not questioning the fact that designers are making things with vintage supplies or recycled glass, rubber, etc. BUT, I'm completely dumbfounded as to where these designers are getting their recycled sterling chain. I am really flabbergasted by the quantity and quality of the survey responses. I am just going through them now and reading what everyone wants, loves and needs. I'll keep you posted!
